FIVE STAR LAUNCHES
‘THE WOMEN OF FIVE STAR – OUR STRENGTH. OUR FUTURE’
A GROUNDBREAKING CAMPAIGN FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Thought provoking short film demolishes perceptions and stereotypes surrounding the British crewing industry.
MARCH 6, 2020
Leading crewing company, Five Star continues to challenge conventional thinking and industry norms with the release of a fascinating short film. ‘The Women of Five Star – Our Strength. Our Future’ showcases the growing number of women changing the face of modern crewing. The timely project is set to launch across all Five Star social media platforms on International Women’s Day, Sunday 8th March 2020. Five Star will take this opportunity to celebrate every woman currently working/considering working in the events industry.
Renowned for doing things differently, the UK’s fastest growing crewing company Five Star plan to further their ongoing efforts to bring about positive change to the sector. The British crewing industry has traditionally been perceived as being a very male dominated workplace due to the relevant technical elements and heavy lifting, however as Five Star’s International Women’s Day campaign shows this is simply not the case. The thriving business employs many females in their national team.
Five Star Managing Director, Ed Driver says “At Five Star we pride ourselves on putting people first. When it comes to recruitment everyone is welcome, our main focus is attitude and a willingness to learn. If you have the right approach, there is a place for you within the company.”
Part of the Vibration Group, Five Star commenced business in 2015 and is now home to over 300 crew members operating from bases in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol and the South Coast to cover the whole of the UK.
In addition to the short film, the campaign will encompass a selection of insightful interviews with individual female members of the team released over the next few weeks. Five Star hopes this inspires and encourages more women to get involved in the industry.
